SRC/DBVI Work Sessions

Periodically, the Council will hold special work sessions to address issues that require more attention than is afforded by regular meetings. Topics may include:

  • In-depth introduction of members and their organizations.
  • Round-table discussions of current issues with guests from state government.
  • Intensive work on implementation of council’s work plan
  • In-depth review of the SRC Handbook.
  • Review and restructuring of committees as needed.

Annual Training Conference

The SRC-DBVI holds an Annual Training Conference every fall, which provides an opportunity to meet with other councils, suchs as SRC-DVR and the Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC), to work on matters of shared interest. During this annual session, a regular council business meeting is also held, which includes elections of council officers and discussion of customary council matters. 2017’s conference included a Joint Annual Training Day for SRC-DBVI and SRC-DVR to focus on WIOA.  Agenda for this meeting is available at the link below.

Planning for the 2018 annual training conference will begin in May of 2018. Stay tuned.

The State Rehabilitation Council (SRC) Division for the Blind and Visually Impaired (DBVI) is a diverse group of people concerned with the quality of vocational rehabilitation services provided to blind Maine citizens. The SRC’s core functions are to review, analyze, and advise on the policies and practices of DBVI and other related entities that are involved with the employment of people who are blind or who have vision impairments.
